Tang Soo Do is a traditional Korean martial art. The literal translation of Tang Soo Do is T'ang (Dynasty) Hand Way of Life. The same characters are pronounced in Japanese as "karate-do."

We are proud members of Grandmaster J. C. Shin's World Tang Soo Do Association, a martial arts affiliation of more than 500 studios and 100,000 students world-wide.

The Leadership Club fee is due for all Cho Dan Bo and Black Belt students. All Leadership Club dues can be paid on-line this year. Remember that Leadership CLub dues must be up to date for any student wishing to test or participate in any Region 21 event. Get more info and pay HERE.

Master Jan Lappin & Middleburg Martial Arts are hosting their Open Tournament on March 3, 2012, at Lakeside Junior High School, Orange Park, Florida. On Friday evening, March 2, Master Lappin will have a free judges clinic, with an examination and certification, for those participating or judging at the Open Tournament. Go to the Events page for information and downloadable applications.

Information and entry forms for the World Championships are now posted on the Events page. These are electronic forms which can be completed on your computer and emailed back to HQ. Alternately, one may print them and mail them to HQ. Paper forms may be available later. A NOTE: Volunteers, judges, and instructors are encouraged to submit applications, even if one is not participating, so HQ will have an idea of who is available at the World Championships to assist.

This year, there will be events at the World Championships all three days of the weekend. All Black Belt competition is on Friday, Gup competition on Saturday, and on Sunday, there is a picnic at the new World Headquarters building in Greensboro. See the Info Sheet for more details.
