Summer Black Belt Camp FFA Center Covington, Georgia Friday, July 17 through Sunday, July 19, 2009 We are again privileged to have Summer Camp for Cho Dan Bo and Black Belt students. This year's Black Belt camp will be at the FFA Center in Covington, GA., hosted by Mr. Charles Richards & the Dojang. The price has been reduced to reflect the general state of the economy, and to make it easier for students to attend. Your Leadership Club dues ($15.00) must be paid to attend. If you have not yet paid your annual dues, you can pay your dues with the application if you choose. Application Deadline is June 20. INFO & Application PDF file HERE Fall Black Belt Test Vero Beach, Florida *Date Change* Saturday, November 14, 2009 Hosted by Treasure Coast Tang Soo Do There will be a clinic on Friday night. The test will be on Saturday morning to accommodate those traveling to the test. After the lunch break, there will be a Team Sparring competition.

Mr. Matt Hutchinson, 4th dan, is the Regional Director of Region 21. Email Mr. Hutchinson HERE. It is Region 21 Policy that Cho Dan candidates must attend the Region Summer Black Belt Camp or the Region Tournament, and at least one other region event prior to testing and that E Dan and above candidates must have the Region camp and at least TWO Region events completed prior to testing. If you wish to test in the fall 2009 or the Spring 2010, and you did not attend the Region 21 tournament, you MUST attend the Summer Black Belt Camp. Beginning in 2010, attendance at the Black Belt Camp and the Region 21 Tournament will be mandatory for anyone who wishes to test for dan level. Please see your studio head if you have questions about this policy.

It is customary for Dan level test candidates to attend a pre-test prior to taking their dan test. Ask your instructor if this means you. Zone 3 Workout

Thanks to Derrick for our new look.	Region 21 College Scholarship Program The Region 21 College Scholarship Program deadline has been extended to May 31, 2009. No applications will be accepted after that date. Scholarship applications must be sent to Mr. Derrick Nevado, c/o Nevado Karate Arts. See the Studio page for the address and contact information. The scholarship application forms have been modified slightly to make them easier to complete, specifically under "General Requirements" numbers 7, 9, 10 and 11. The old text shows as a strikethrough. If you have already completed the old requirements, you do NOT need to re-do the form. You can submit either the older form or the newer version. Region 21 should have a large presence at our Association's World Championships, since they will be close. Start making plans now for your 2010 World Championships.
