The 2010 World Tang Soo Do Association World Championships will be held in Greensboro, North Carolina, July 16 & 17, 2010. This is a rare treat for us on the East Coast, since traditionally, this year's World Championships would have been held somewhere in California. However, perhaps because our new World Headquarters are planned for Burlington, North Carolina, the World Championships are still close to us in Region 21. In addition, Grand Master Shin will receive his well deserved promotion by acclamation to 9th Dan at the World Championships. Read the latest WTSDA newsletter HERE Fall Black Belt Test & Black Belt Camp Hosted by Master Charles Richards The Dojang October 22, 23 & 24, 2010 Covington, Georgia This year's Black Belt Camp and Fall Black Belt Test are being combined into one event. We will again use the Georgia FFA Center facilities at Covington, Georgia, although you may not need to bring suntan lotion or a swimming suit this time. Plans are still being finalized, but the Black Belt Test will be held on Saturday evening, similar to the way Master's Camp is done.

Hosted by Central Florida Tang Soo Do Spring Black Belt Test Friday, April 23, 2010 Clarion Inn 230 North State Road 436 Altamonte Springs, Florida The Spring Black Belt test will be on Friday evening at the event hotel. The written test will begin at 5:00 PM and the physicla test at 6:00 PM. Support your Region. Stay at the Event Hotel. Region 21 Tournament Saturday, April 24, 2010 Wolf Lake Middle School 1725 West Ponkan Road Apopka, Florida 32712 Earlier Start Time The morning following the Black Belt Test, we will have the annual Region 21 Tournament at Wolf Lake Middle School. A complete and authorized dobohk must be worn, including patches and color trim. In addition to the three classes of Dan Championship Cups awarded to both male and female winners, this year there will be a Gup Grand Champion awarded to the highest scoring Gup competitor. This year's Region 21 Tournament theme is "True Victory is Victory Over Oneself" True Victory is not winning fights, but rather, it is gaining mastery over oneself and one’s actions. The Chinese character on this year's Tournament T-shirt relects the wisdom of this martial arts proverb.

Zone Workouts Zone 1 Workout The Dojang & Master Richards Zone Workout, Pre-test Saturday, March 13 Written test 10 AM, physical test 11 AM Zone Workout, Pre-test Saturday. September 11 Written test 10 AM, physical 11 AM tentative Zone 2 Workout Zone 2 Workout Middlberg Martial Arts will host a Zone Training session on Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Middleberg MA will also host a Zone Training on Friday, February 26, 2010, from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM. Ms. Lappin has also graciously agreed to put on a judge's training session at the same time. This is the night before Middleberg's Open Tournament. It is customary for Dan level test candidates to attend a pre-test prior to taking their dan test. Ask your instructor if this means you. Thanks to Derrick for our new look. It is Region 21 Policy that Cho Dan candidates must attend the Region Summer Black Belt Camp or the Region Tournament, and at least one other region event prior to testing and that E Dan and above candidates must have the Region camp and at least TWO Region events completed prior to testing. Beginning in 2010, attendance at the Black Belt Camp and the Region 21 Tournament will be mandatory for anyone who wishes to test for dan level. Please see your studio head if you have questions about this policy.	2010 WTSDA World Championships The 2010 World Championships will be held in Greensboro, North Carolina, in July, 2010. Region 21 should have a large presence at our Association's World Championships, since they will be close. Start making plans now for your 2010 World Championships. 2010 College Scholarship Program Region 21 awards a college scholarship every year to a deserving Tang Soo Do student from within Region 21. Applicants for the scholarship must complete the Scholarship Package and forward it to Mr Derrick Nevado by the deadline of June 1, 2010. Download the Scholarship Package here.
